Net Zero Newsletter #1
Welcome to Pubinno’s Net Zero Newsletter!
With high temperatures dominating our summers and the rare snow falling during winters, the Earth is going through unprecedentedly challenging times. Within the scope of our efforts towards a net zero future, we’ve created this newsletter to keep you updated on the latest developments in the sustainable future of draft beer and the ways the beer industry can help fight against climate change.
The IPCC's recent report emphasizes the urgent need for sustainable and rapid reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in all sectors to limit warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. If we are to meet this target, we need to work together.
Did you know that the beer industry annually emits the same amount of CO2 as 63 million passenger vehicles driven for a year would?
We believe that together, we can reduce the environmental footprint of the beer industry and promote a more sustainable future. In order to create a collaborative ecosystem where each player feels the urgency to take action and feel accountable, Pubinno is welcoming you to its first newsletter on building a net zero future!

The bitter truth.
Picture this: it is Friday night, you are cozying up on the couch with a 6-pack of your favorite beer, and all ready to binge-watch your favorite show.
Believe it or not, drinking a 6-pack of your favorite beer can produce the same amount of carbon emissions as driving a car for 2.7 kilometers (1.68 miles).
Water is not only used immensely in beer production, but is a crucial resource for the sustainability of the ingredients.????
Did you know that water makes up almost 95% of beer? ????
Thanks to Pubinno's products, 700 million liters of water of have been saved to date.
700 million liters of water= 2,900,000,000 glasses of water = 280 Olympic swimming pools
If you didn't know the massive impact the beer industry has on the planet, there is no need to beat yourself up now.
Awareness and knowledge is the key to action, and now that you have started learning about the beer industry and the impact it has on the environment, you can make better decisions such as using Pubinno's Smart Tap.????
“We can achieve net zero if different companies, organizations, industries work together to learn from each other.”

Word Water Day
On this World Water Day, we took a moment to reflect on the excessive water consumption of the beer industry and its impact on our environment. We emphasized our collective power to turn small actions into a big movement and ensure that future generations can enjoy the perfect beer in a sustainable world.
International Day of Forests
Did you know that deforestation is responsible for 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions? Or that our forests can absorb up to 30% of the emissions we as humans create?! ????️ ????
At Pubinno, we believe that the responsible use of resources is key to creating a better tomorrow for all. That’s why we are thrilled to be partnering with Leaders for Climate Action (LCFA) to achieve our goal to create sustainable future, and to be part of the solution for a better tomorrow.
Is glass innocent?
As an eco-conscious beer lover or industry player, you may think that glass-bottled beer is the more environmentally-friendly choice. But do you know that the majority of glass bottles end up in the landfill, creating a mountain of waste?
In fact, studies show that glass is the second most wasted material at restaurants after food.
Numbers
- In 2020, the process of recycling glass caused 11,700 tonnes of CO2 which is equal to the amount of more than 1.650 return flights from New Zealand to London.
- The average carbon footprint of a 330 ml glass bottle for beer is around 0.55 kg CO2 and is equivalent to charging your phone 48 times.
Bye, heavy trucks.
Sitting at your favorite bar and enjoying the perfect beer with the foam perfectly poured is a great experience. But if you ever experienced the buttery feel or metallic taste, it's likely due to the unclean and poorly maintained beer lines.????
The beer industry’s emissions extend to the practices implemented for keeping draft beer lines clean, since traditional cleaning methods require transport by heavy trucks and consume significant amounts of water, detergent, and energy, leading to high carbon emissions.????
News
- In December, 2022, EPA adopted the "Control of Air Pollution from New Motor Vehicles” rule, which establishes more stringent emissions standards for heavy-duty vehicles.
- In February, the European Commission proposed ambitious new CO2 emissions targets for new heavy-duty vehicles from 2030.
What if we told you that we have come up with a solution to this problem?
There's a new era of beer line cleaning technology that's revolutionizing the industry. ????
Pubinno's fully automated Smart Clean is the future of cleaning beer lines, offering a sustainable, efficient, and eco-friendly solution. Decarbonizing The Beer Industry
Though the beer industry has made strides to reduce its carbon footprint, Pubinno is at the forefront of providing end-to-end solutions that decarbonize the entire value chain, setting new standards of sustainability in the industry.
There is a growing trend in the food and beverage industry to address its environmental impact, and to find innovative solutions to fight against climate change.
Let’s explore some:
Glass-free, guilt-free
It is a great relief to toss the glass bottles to the recycling bin, but don’t fool yourself, recycling alone is not the solution. The real solution lies in reusing.
Unlike bottles, kegs can be reused multiple times, reducing the environmental impact of beer production and distribution significantly.
In fact, a single keg can be reused up to 30 times, making the draft beer a much more sustainable option in the short and the long run.
According to Deloitte, steel kegs prevent six billion single-use containers from becoming waste each year.
Waste Less, Enjoy More
Many beer brands have taken steps in their production processes to reduce their environmental footprint, like using renewable energy sources, and sourcing ingredients locally.
However, there is a simpler and more efficient way to fight emissions caused by production: preventing beer waste in the first place. This is where Pubinno comes in with our innovative technology that reduces the waste of beer up to 20% and ensures every pint delivers the perfect beer.
Pubinno’s products reduce the environmental footprint of the beer industry while delivering the perfect beer to the beer lovers all over the world.
Smart Solutions, Visible Operations
Thanks to the power of AI, robotics, and connected technologies, beer brands are able to create a more sustainable and efficient system. By optimizing the supply chain with the help of real-time data and insights like Pubinno’s Smart Hub provides, brands are able to track their inventory and sales in real-time, manage their operations more efficiently, substantially reduce waste, and make informed decisions.
