Looking from beer’s production and supply chain perspective, brewing is a water-intensive industry in which water is used in every step of the brewing process; only a small amount makes it into th package (Almost 90% of beer is water). Just to highlight, inside the average brewhouse, it takes seven gallons of water to produce one gallon of beer whilst at less efficient breweries the ratio can go as high as 10 to one.
